Taylour Gillett, MA LPC NCC
Owner / Licensed Professional Counselor
At some point, we all experience difficulties in our lives and reaching out for help isn't always easy. Whether you're anxious, depressed, or struggling to adjust, I am here to help. I work with my clients to create a comfortable, non-judgmental, and safe environment to discuss openly the issues they may be experiencing.
It is always my goal in therapy to help guide my clients toward achieving their ideal futures. My therapeutic style focuses on the clients needs and utilizes an integrative and client-centered approach to meet the client where they are at and guide them to where they want to be.
I graduated from the University of Michigan with my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and went on to graduate from Oakland University with my Master's Degree in Counseling, specializing in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling.
I am here to help guide you toward a brighter and happier future.
Whether you are an individual, a couple, or a family looking for help and guidance - my therapeutic skills are designed to strengthen your confidence, enhance your well-being, and assist you in the healing process. I utilize an integrative and eclectic therapy style to meet my clients specific needs and areas of concern. I focus on the client as a whole - including their present, past, and what they wish for their future. My therapeutic style includes elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Exploration, and Psychoeducation, with a fundamental base in Person-Centered therapy.
I see adolescents and adults who may be experiencing issues with infertility, anxiety, depression, relationship stress, adjustment issues, self-harm, self-esteem, and grief and loss. However, I have experience working with a wide-range of mental health issues and with my collaborative and integrative approach to therapy, I can help you through your journey and to a happier future.
A Happier, Healthier Partnership
Every couple experiences highs and lows in their relationship, and sometimes we need some extra assistance getting through those lows. In couples therapy, we’ll work to solve current problems, enhance communication, and improve positive thinking and behaviors. I will help you re-frame your reactions and provide you with valuable tools to help you cope with your relationship obstacles.
Creating Household Harmony
Dysfunctional or improper family dynamics often create stress and frustration for everyone involved. In family therapy, we will look at the family as a whole and attempt to identify the family patterns that are causing distress and work to create healthier forms of communication, improve accountability when needed, and provide problem-solving techniques and skills.
RATES AND INSURANCE
Paying for therapy doesn't have to be stressful. At LTM Counseling and Wellness, PLLC we accept several insurance plans that will usually cover all or part of your therapy costs. Still trying to decide if therapy is right for you?
Let me help.
I’m committed to giving my clients the best care and experience that I can. Part of that care is making sure you are comfortable and informed. There’s no such thing as a bad question when it comes to your mental health. So check out the questions and answers below, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns.
WHAT IS THERAPY LIKE AND WHY SHOULD I COME?
It isn't uncommon to feel some anxiety or uncertainty at the start of therapy, especially before the first appointment. Rest assured, you're not alone if you feel this way. And while every client's experience in therapy is different, typically our time will be spent discussing issues that may have arisen since your last visit, working on areas in your past or present, and working on goals for your future to get you to where you want to be.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION LAST AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD I ATTEND SESSIONS?
Typically most therapy sessions will last approximately 50-minutes, beginning at the start of the hour and ending ten-minutes before the following hour. As for how often you should attend therapy, that depends on each individual, as every client has their own needs. In the beginning, it's especially important to try and attend therapy sessions as regularly as possible, usually weekly, in order to get the most out of the therapeutic relationship.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE OR SLIDING FEE SCALE RATES?
Yes! We offer a sliding fee scale ranging from $75 - $185 per session. We also accept the following insurance plans which may cover all or most of your session costs: Blue Care Network, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Blue Cross Complete, Cigna/Evernorth, Meridian, and Priority Health. If you need help verifying your benefits, please do not hesitate to reach out! We would be happy to assist.
WILL MY THERAPY SESSIONS BE CONFIDENTIAL?
When it comes to the therapeutic relationship, trust is one of the most important aspects, and part of that trust is maintaining your privacy and confidentiality. Part of my duty as a therapist is adhering to confidentiality and privacy guidelines set by state guidelines and ethical standards, with some limited exceptions in cases of abuse, neglect, or in cases of harm to you, by you, or toward someone else.
